Woof is a grooming diary for independent dog groomers: every dog, every groom, the comb and blade sizes, the notes, and the before and after photos, in one iPhone app. Logging is free for 3 months from your first groom; after that, a subscription keeps new grooms coming. It has no account and keeps your diary in your own iCloud. If something is unclear or wrong, email support@w00f.app and a person will answer.

Frequently asked questions

Is my diary backed up?

Yes, when your iPhone is signed in to iCloud. Woof saves every dog and groom to your own private iCloud database as you go. Open Woof → Settings → iCloud Backup: Backed up and good to go, with the time it last saved, means it is; iCloud needs a quick look means it is not, and the card prints the exact place in iPhone Settings to fix it. There is no Woof account and no Woof server — the backup is yours, in your iCloud storage, and nobody else can see it.

How do I get my diary back on a new phone?

Sign the new iPhone in to the same Apple Account you used before, install Woof from the App Store, and open it. Your dogs, grooms and photos come down from iCloud on their own; give a large diary a minute or two on Wi-Fi. If the list is still empty, check Settings → iCloud Backup in Woof and make sure iCloud Drive is on in iPhone Settings for that account.

Why does Settings say “iCloud needs a quick look”?

Almost always because the iPhone is not signed in to iCloud, Woof is switched off under iCloud for this phone, or iCloud storage is full. The card prints the path — Settings › your name › iCloud › Woof, or › Manage Storage — and Open Settings opens the Settings app. iOS lands every app on its own page there, so follow the path from the top of Settings. Sign in, switch Woof on, or free some storage, come back, and the card turns green by itself. If it says Trouble backing up instead, that one is on us: tap Report a problem and send the email it prepares.

How do I export my diary?

Settings → Export data. Woof builds a zip with a spreadsheet of every groom (dog, breed, date, price, comb and blade sizes, face, and notes) and every photo, named by dog and date, and hands it to the share sheet: save it to Files or iCloud Drive, AirDrop it, or email it. Nothing leaves your phone unless you share it.

How do I change which comb and blade sizes appear?

Settings → Combs & Blades. Every size Woof knows is listed longest-first with its cut length; tick the ones you own and they appear in the Body / Head / Ears steppers straight away. Lengths follow Andis’s small and large snap-on comb sets. On other sets, the same number can be a different length, so check the length column against your own set. At least one comb and one blade always stay on.

Can a new groom start from the last one's combs and blades?

Yes. Open Settings → When starting a groom…, then choose under Use the same blades as last time?. Use from last groom fills in the dog's last combs and blades for you, Ask every time asks first, with that groom's date and finish photo, and Start fresh leaves them empty. Only combs and blades come across; face, notes, price, and photos never do. You can change any value before you save.

How do I change the app icon?

Settings → Appearance → App icon. Automatic follows your iPhone's light or dark look, or pick Light, Dark, or one of the seasonal icons. iOS shows a short notice each time the icon changes; that message comes from iOS, not from Woof.

How do I send feedback or report a problem?

Settings → Share your thoughts → Send feedback. Pick Idea, Problem, or Other, type your note and tap Send. It opens an email in your own mail app to feedback@w00f.app with your note and a short block (Woof version, iOS version, language, iCloud on or off) so it can be acted on — you can read every line before you send. If no mail app is set up on the phone, Woof offers to copy the note so you can send it from anywhere. Report a problem on the iCloud Backup card does the same, with the backup details attached.
