Woof Terms of Use

Effective 12 September 2026.

These terms cover your use of the iPhone app Woof Grooming Diary (“Woof”), published by Cary Feuer (“we”, “us”). By installing or using Woof you agree to them. Woof is downloaded through the App Store, so Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies; where the two differ, Apple's terms govern the download and these terms govern everything else.

1. What Woof is

Woof is a personal diary for recording how you groom dogs: names, breeds, prices, clipper sizes, notes and photos. It is a record-keeping tool, not a booking system, a payment system or a source of professional advice. It has no account and no server. Your first five grooms are free to log; logging more needs the subscription described in section 4.

2. Your data is yours

Everything you enter into Woof belongs to you. We claim no rights to it, we cannot see it, and we do not store a copy. Your diary lives on your iPhone and, if you are signed in to iCloud, in your own private iCloud database. See the Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for the content you store, including any photos of animals or people, and for keeping an iCloud backup on if you want the diary to survive a lost, broken or replaced phone.

3. iCloud is Apple's

Backup and restore depend on Apple's iCloud service, your Apple Account, and the iCloud storage available to you. Apple, not we, operates that service. We cannot recover a diary that was never backed up, and we cannot access one that was.

4. Subscription

Woof offers one optional auto-renewable subscription, Woof Monthly, bought through Apple's in-app purchase. It unlocks logging beyond the first five free grooms. Whether or not you subscribe, everything you have already logged stays readable and editable in the app.

  • Price. The price is shown in the App Store and in the app before you buy, in your local currency. We do not set or display a price outside the App Store.
  • Renewal. The subscription renews automatically each month until it is canceled. Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Cancel anytime. You can cancel at any time in Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions on your iPhone. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep access until then. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
  • Payment and refunds are Apple's. Apple processes the payment and holds your payment details; we never see them. Refunds are handled by Apple under its terms, not by us — request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
  • Restore. If you reinstall Woof or change phones, use Restore Purchases in the app to reconnect an active subscription bought with the same Apple Account.
  • Changes. If we change the price, Apple will notify you and ask for your consent before the new price applies. If we discontinue the subscription, your access continues to the end of the period you have paid for.

5. Provided as is

Woof is provided as is and as available, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not promise that Woof will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that any stored record will be accurate or complete. Clipper sizes and cut lengths shown in the app are reference values; check them against your own tools.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or business, arising from your use of or inability to use Woof — even if we were told it was possible. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for Woof in the twelve months before the claim arose (which is zero if you have not subscribed), or the minimum the applicable law allows if that law does not permit such a limit.

7. Acceptable use

Do not use Woof to break the law, to store content you have no right to store, or to attempt to interfere with Apple's services. Do not reverse-engineer the app except where the law expressly allows it.

8. Changes and ending

We may update Woof or these terms. Material changes to these terms will be posted at https://w00f.app/terms with a new effective date. You can stop using Woof at any time by deleting it; your diary in iCloud stays until you delete it from iCloud. We may discontinue Woof; if we do, the app on your phone and your data in your iCloud are unaffected by us.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States of America, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey, and you consent to their jurisdiction. If you are a consumer in a place whose law gives you rights that cannot be waived, those rights are not affected by this section.
